This Shofar is made of an Oryx, which is from the Antelope family, an animal which was prevalent in Israel in the past.
The horn itself is straight, therefore it is not customary at use is Synagogues.
Some identify the Oryx Shofar as the instrument that was in use by the Levites at the Temple in Jerusalem.
It is characterized by a trumpet-like powerful sound.
